Ok, maybe it's age. I tried one with "ham" on it this week. It was one step up from Spam. Sloppy, wet, gelatiny, sliced up salty "stuff." The place, staff, fresh vegetables (not a vegetarian) are the best. Pickles have shrunk immensely since the 70's but I can deal with that. I acknowledge they must work hard to keep their prices down, so that the students can afford a sandwich. But, the quality of at least the ham and turkey is rock bottom. It's 2008 Pickle Barrel. The owners are the same as they were in the 80's for sure. They've made their millions. Put some quality meat on those sandwiches! |

Wish they'd put quality turkey meat in their sandwiches. The grade of turkey they use, is about the worst I have seen in a long time. Slimy and processed with gelatin I suppose. I'd rather have a better grade of meat put on my sandwhich, and even be happy to pay a bit more, or have a bit less "meat" on the sandwich. This place has always set a fine example, treating customers with courtesy and friendliness! Maybe uptown/downtown should hire these kids, to show them what "customer service" is all about. What's even funnier, is that this business has 1/ONE parking space in front, and I don't think anyone complains! Pickle Barrel has it figured out. |

| I was involvolved with helping with conscessions for a local event a few years back and we ordered and sold Pickle Barrel sandwiches. To keep costs down our profits were going to be minimal. On delivery, the hidden price of a gratuity was tacked on to the cost which eliminated any profit at all and our non profit origanization actually lost money on this item. We were unaware of this hidden cost (which may have been our fault). But they would not compromise or waive the gratuity. So yeah, a good enough sandwhich, but they havn't gotten a lot of my buisness since then. | |

| I have been there a couple times and their sandwiches are pretty good. A lot of meat on their sandwiches and their cheese soup is good too! | |
