| I was just thinking about that today, as I drove by the fields. I loved going there and especially when a group of owners & their pooches got together to let everyone have fun! What would it take for the city to open the fields for the dogs who love it? I used to refill plastic bags at the north field in the hopes that it would encourage/remind owners to pick up. We do have access to Cooper park and a couple other ones, but we still need convenient parks all over! That was our favorite spot to let our pups run after our walks in the morning... :( | |

| You're worried about the relatively little problem of where we can let our dogs run free. Should be more worried about how free people will be if things continue on the course they have been. We'll be alongside our dogs - with our collars and leashes on, being told where we can and cannot go, what we can and cannot do. There, I've changed your little posting into a "political rant". Sorry, ha ha. (P.S. - I do sympathize with you, as I am a dog lover, too). | |

| Okay - just a poke. Now back to "A Boring, Non-Political, Non-Rant." I actually agree with you. Bozeman used to be a place where dogs (and people) ran free. Now you can get a ticket if you throw a frisbee for your dog in the wrong place. We must be "paranoid" at all times now, regarding our dogs, for the dog police may, at any time, be lurking in the bushes, ready to spring out, pen and ticket pad in hand, to write us up for Fido's (and our) terrible wrongdoings. (Or should I say "wrongpooings"). | |

Some Global Name Change(cooling, warming, changing, etc.) advocates proffer that Dogs are not green. Specifically, the care and maintenance of them leads to a contribution of CO2 into the atmosphere. See my posting of October 5, "Man's Best Friend, Not So Friendly." I have known dog's feces to be green but I think the liberal environmentalists, especially the "White environmentalist polluters"(a term coined by Van Jones)carry things a bit too far. But this is the concern is it not? That the definition of what is environmentally friendly will be determined by environmental radicals within the administration. The use of the care of the environment as a means of control is quite clear. That aside, when I grew up here, we did not have a Pooper park, we had a Cooper Park. Places were clean. Like Hyalite canyon. Granted, there were less people then, now we have more. However, the majority of them seem to be those most concerned for the environment. Strange how that goes out the window when the need to insert one's hand into a baggie to retrieve a dogie dropping arises. Of course one could look on the positive side of control. Issues such as these would be taken care of. For example, only the aristocracy would be permitted to own the dogs for they would have the means to employ members of the masses to retrieve the droppings and dispose of them properly. The masses of course would have no need of owning a dog for they would could enjoy the experience of owning a dog by maintaining the Master's dog. We would admire the aristocracy for carrying the burden that wealth brings but allowing us to engage in the more noble aspects of dog ownership. Peace |

I don't know much but I am glad there is an in-town leash law. I wish more people would adhere to it and that it would be enforced. Just last week I was walking my leashed dogs and some idiot's dog ran up and attacked one of my dogs. I kicked away at her dog and instead of yanking her dog off of mine, she just kept yelling it's name. How stupid! So if you know this feckless fool with a boxer named Puma, you can tell her I only took it easy on her dog because of the proximity of the holidays and that next time will be a different story. |

Chicken Dena, I cannot believe your hatred. Your name calling your threats to the well being of her dog. Your practice of profiling a particular dog breed is disgusting! As a liberal, you should be more tolerant. The production of leashes contributes to the level of CO2 in the atmosphere. Perhaps you should follow the green thinking of your friend and allow the dog to run freely. A more natural practice. Your wish to adhere to antiquated laws is narrow minded, not the stuff of free thinking liberals. Peace |

Chicken Dena, Fallacies? These are your words are they not? "some idiot's dog" "I kicked away at her dog" "How stupid!" "feckless fool with a boxer named Puma" "I only took it easy on her because of the proximity of the holidays and that next time will be a different story" You have to admit, this at least sounds threatening. Liberal Doses, up until now I have thought you were actually an intelligent person with whom I just did not agree. As it turns out, I was wrong. Sorry I can't help you with those educational milestones that you should reached years ago. My respect for your differing opinion has now been replaced with pity for your mental deficiencies. |

| FYI to anyone with an unleashed dog - If your dog starts attacking one of my leashed dogs, I will do whatever it takes to get your dog off of mine. End of story, no regrets. Chicken Dena I back you on your decision. | ||

I have a dog waste removal service and have gone to the city and given them rock bottom deals to keep our parks clean. I would've been happy to take some of the tennis court stimulus monies to keep our parks clean. Heck, we could've even created an extra job or two.
