Liberty and Justice for ALL-City of Bozeman Investigation

To those who cannot read this without it being in their preferred format, I have separated this into several paragraphs.  If it still does not meet the guidelines of any particular person, I apologize. No matter how it is formatted, it is still a long Discussion and I understand that. It may not be worth your time to read, so you may not be missing anything anyway.  It is not required reading so just skip this one if it is a problem.  Below is the "separated" format as requested:

Washington DC Government has rubbed off on our City it seems....They continue to let those in power NOT be held accountable for their actions and punish those honest hard workers trying to do their jobs. The problem is, when they do their job honestly that gets in the way of those dishonest "Higher Ups".

  1. It is business as usual. Looks like our $10,000 was spent just about as efficiently as a lot of our Federal Government money is being spent recently... We should have learned from our mistakes in the past, not to trust those in power. Though we try to give our leaders the benefit of the doubt and consider them to be honest in what they promise, unfortunately our government and City leaders have all been transformed into politicians. They SAY WHAT THEY THINK WE (THE PEOPLE) WANT TO HEAR, NOT WHAT THE TRUTH IS. They satisfy us long enough to go about their behind the scenes antics as quickly as possible before we realize we have been "Had Again"!

How long are we going to allow this to continue? That remains to be seen. Our commissioners certainly did not give us the un-biased investigation we were promised, and certainly did not protect the employees who could have given them the information they needed to clear things up once and for all. An investigator being ushered around by those being investigated as their buddy. And then they expect an employee under that supervisor to stand up and risk their job without protection of retaliation? There are too many incidents in the past that employees know better than that. They know the consequences.

No, it is business as usual and are we to believe that a little slap on the wrist and probation is going to change the actions or core principles of those in question? As long as they are allowed to continue their misconduct without being stopped, they will continue. The opportunity to prove to the people that the right thing would be done, was lost! The commissioners are more interested in preventing conflict or debate, and quieting anyone who might speak badly of their performance, than they are about getting to the truth and providing proper and successful disciplinary actions to STOP the problem from recurring.

No, all they have accomplished is to provide more reason for employees to keep quiet about abuse and misconduct of their superiors, and more fuel to encourage the actual leaders in question to continue their retaliation of those only trying to speak the truth. They now have more arrogance than ever! It's time we showed them they can't get by with these things forever! Make the right choices when you vote! Pay attention! Get the facts! We all need to wake up and we need to wake up our elected officials! They need to do what is right and provide justice so the people feel represented by honest and responsible adults.

The commissioners need to take care of the problem instead of treating it as a petty game they are playing. These people are on probation so apparently they did find out who was responsible for the problems. Do they think no one will notice that they don't take this seriously with the punishment they decided on? They just decided NOT to take action and correct the problems once and for all. We all heard those responsible on TV and in the newspapers admit what they did. Is that just to be forgotten? Why not give them a just punishment and find someone who can perform their jobs professionally and honestly?

Too bad the risks seemed too high for so many employees to provide the evidence to the investigator and tell them the WHOLE truth regardless of the consequences. If enough of the people stick together, they CAN win against the FEW in charge. It will never get better until someone stands up and does something about it! Never!!  Too bad the commissioners could not have found a way to provide this protection to those employees and guarantee to each person providing information, that any mistreatment would be immediately and harshly disciplined. They could not convincingly provide this guarantee though because history shows it NOT to be true in THIS CITY, and they weren't willing to do what was required to change that!

Don't think this is over and those being punished with probation will learn anything from this other than the fact that they now have MORE power to have their way in the future. That is all that the commission accomplished with the TAXPAYER's $10,000. I take back my THANK YOU to them for doing what is right. It is now THANK YOU FOR NOTHING!

It's frankly way too long.
It's important to get to the
point ASAP here. Many have
short memories and attention
spans. They're used to texting
and tweeting which often doesn't
even involve full words
or sentences.

Not his fault, sometimes the system does not put in paragraphs you have put in.

Peace

Obama Thugged byLiberal Doses8 months ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
ROL,

An important aspect of reading is comprehension. How can one have read 'Atlas Shrugged' and yet support a man such as Obama whose philosophy is counter?

Peace

Well, I read Atlas Shrugged about a year ago and I just finished The Fountainhead.

Ayn Rand and her objectivism philosophy would work for about a year before society would collapse under it own ego-centrist weight.

Open your brain, LD.

One can read and enjoy yet disagree with the overall premise.

Correct?

Do you only read to reinforce your own views?

I read to challenge what I think.

It was a slap on the wrist, thats all. I really need to change my profession to one where I can lie and still keep my job!
Hi city peeps bySINBAD8 months ago (2 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
FJ I work at the city and the worker bees are angry, we are buzzing around and fed up with the crap.

What a joke we see all these cronies protecting each other. Think about this: Chuck Winn gets promoted to Asst. City Manager while this hiring policy was in place. Chris Kukulski did not know about the policy? Oh really? So that must mean Kukulski did not review any of the applications for this, his right hand man. So I guess he wanted Winn all along? So what does that say.

In my department (hi peeps) the hiring committee reviews all the applicants and is required by HR (Patti Berg)to turn in a score sheet on each applicant and then make their recommendations. If these people had noses they would be a mile long.

This is an administration that is filled with unethical behavior and cronyism. It is time to change our form of government. The city manager has too much power and lacks the moral stamina to do the right thing. If he had a ball sac Winn and Berg would be gone.

Oh yeah I now hear Winn is taking over the police department, now that Lachappelle is gone and Timrac is gone too, thank god. If Lachapelle was dead he would be rolling over in his grave.
Thanks for making it read-able. byChicken Dena8 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
It's just like that in the state gov too; so I am not surprised.

Not only CONTINUE, but ESCALATE!! These people are unbelievably arrogant and pompous – you would not BELIEVE the crap they’re pulling now, as if none of the Facebook lessons were learned – it will come out soon. Chris Kukulski is NOT good people, and NONE of the people he has hired or promoted are good people either.

Guilty as charged, Farmer John. It's much harder to be the heroes we see on TV or read about in books than it seems, as I'm sure you know. We've all got bills to pay and there aren't a lot of other jobs out there right now and lawyers cost money - - - unless, like you say, everybody gets together and then legal representation would get more feasible - maybe even on a contingency basis if enough City employees were involved.

What we need to do is to make sure the Chronicle reporter Amanda Ricker aricker@dailychronicle.com and the KTVM reporter Kendra Eaglin keaglin@ktvm.com get as many facts as we can provide them.

Public opinion will eventually force “Mayor” Jeff Kraus to correct his mistake of bringing Kukulski to this community in the first place, and to correct Kraus’ even more outrageous mistake of negotiating such a huge compensation package to bring this complete self-serving liar in to destroy what was once a fine City organization.
