Doubling Up

HB 400 will allow breweries to double the alchohol content of Montana brews. Is this wise considering the high rates of fatalities due to drunk driving and addiction/suicide of Montanans? Does anyone consider the consequences of an action like this?

I don't think this is an issue.

What else causes the high rates of fatalities? Drugs, hard alcohol, speed, not paying attention, negligence...

So beer is going to have a bit more alcohol in it. So what?

And they didn't double it-

They raised the maximum percentage of alcohol in a microbrew to 14%. The limit had been 8.75%. But I understand...you need to make your argument :-)

Even they skewed it to make it sound worse than it is. My apologies CW, I read my news in a variety of places...tends to make things more true.

Just why does beer need a higher alcohol content?
Does it really affect the flavor or just the kick/punch?

you really need to look into things before you shout your mouth off!

In my opinion it makes the beer taste worse, but that is because the "fortified" brews taste pretty rank to begin with.

A good European style beer can taste pretty good even with a higher alcohol content.

I still prefer American style beers. I drink em to cure my thirst so a higher content doesn't mean squat.

PBR and Miller, all the way.

I'm a huge fan of German beers and you're right, they have a higher alcohol content, but you don't drink as much of them.

Hey, Bikerider, back up and read the
link to the Chronicle article. It's
where I got the idea for this post.
You're the one "shouting your mouth off."

I think that increasing the alcohol content plays right into the plans of the green movement as it has inherent elements of population control.

Peace

I ready through this thing thinking there might be a post without a reference to the massive liberal plot to destroy America. Good job, LD, you make me laugh.
