Financial woes of the Green Gay Loggers

So I read in today's newspaper (July 1st) that the Coalition of Green Gay Loggers may fall about 350 bucks short of the fee they need to pay for street closure.  And that if Brian Leland doesn't raise that amount he will give what he has raised to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.  I think you are digging yourself a hole here, Mr. Leland.  In as much as I think your parade would be very fun, I think a better use of my extra hard earned highly taxes income would in fact be towards a donation to the Food Bank.  So good for you in thinking of the Food Bank as a place to donate the funds if the march doesn't go off.  But as for me, I'm donating 10 bucks directly to the Food Bank in honor of and maybe the memory of the Green Gay Loggers.  And the Special Olympics.

American Cornhole Association byAlphaBeagle July 01, 2009 (2 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Well, as for me, I'm thinking about donating to the American Cornhole Association. They are in fact asking for $5 donations to promote the clean, family fun of cornhole. It's a very American tradition. For more info, go to hillbillygames.com. P.S. - Art, maybe you should think about donating to this wonderful organization in memory of the Green Gay Loggers.

Art, I will see your $10 and raise you $5.

I have a question, are'nt "Green Gay Loggers" also teabaggers?
RE: Go Brian: bysproutslilsis July 01, 2009 (1 votes) (report abuse)
Yes, them and everyone at the Tea-parties. Love it!

Gross, Citizenpain.

If there are only two choices and they are that you are either a tea-bagger (participate in the "tea party") or a tea-bagee (not participate in the "tea-party"), I guess I would rather be a teabagger. I think that the loggers group is a mix of both.

You do know what a teabagger is, Montana007, in the derogatory sense?
How about by6guns July 01, 2009 (3 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
they go cut down some pine beetle infested trees.
RE: How about byAlphaBeagle July 01, 2009 (2 votes) (report abuse)
they have a cup of "green" tea before they cut down some pine beetle infested trees, then celebrate with a game of cornhole. Later they can go to church. Now this is really getting "cornfusing" as Art would say. I don't even know which side I'm talking about anymore! LOL.

Citizenpain: Just to let you know I'll match your 15 so we are both in for the 15 for the food bank.
As far as the marches go, I hope whoever marches has fun and that the weather holds. I'm not exactly falling in with the Tea Party animals, but it doesn't need to rain on your parade because of that.
Regardless of who you march with, keep the food bank in mind.
Really . . . byAlphaBeagle July 02, 2009 (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Is $15 towards the food bank the best you can do?
Food Bank Challenge byArt July 02, 2009 (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
No, I actually do a yearly thing for the food bank so this is a seperate donation. If you match Citizenpain's 15 and my 15 I'll up mine to 20.
Hey, how about doing a donation jar at the Tea Party March??
Donations may help in keeping folks off the government dole.

Contact henry kreigel and suggest it!
SUGGEST IT, byCitizenpain July 02, 2009 (2 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
SUGGEST IT, what the hell is that crap; just do it! Right now there are over 8500 people in the valley competing for around 300 jobs at the job service, the food bank is going to need some help. I'll bring the bucket.

I would rather beg forgiveness, than ask for permission; SUGGEST IT #^^**(*#!%#&)_&^%?

Thanks ART.

Well, I'm not in charge of the Tea Party organization! Henry Kreigel is one of the organizers - perhaps I should have told you to go to him and TELL him to do it, then! Usually it's more polite to ask. As for donations to the food bank on my part - I already do plenty of donating to them, and to a bunch of other organizations as well. The voluntary giving of time, money etc. is just that - voluntary - and people in this town have already proven that they are indeed generous. They have proven that government doesn't need to make them share the wealth. Go on Facebook and ask Henry Kreigel about putting a food bank donation jar on a table at the steps to the courthouse. I will put money in it.

Citizenpain: I think the bucket's a good idea and a nice gesture. I'm not in with the Tea Party, but I also don't think it's members are heartless folks who don't have compassion and are trying to keep every single dime they have. Well, maybe one or two. Anyway I'm sure you are dead on about the need.
Bring your money AB!

Don't worry about me, Art - and I'm bringing money to spend downtown, as well.

I see that the Gay Loggers have raised enough to pay for their march. It appears they raised 350 dollars over what they needed, so that amount is going to the Food Bank. Had they not done that a significantly higher amount would have gone to the Food Bank as they had raised about 800 which was all going to go to the Food Bank had they not met their goal. I'm not going to be here so I'm not in a position to have to decide to march, but I hope that someone takes it on themselves to collect donations from the Gay Loggers also for the food bank.
