They got it Right

Good job commission; to begin with we have a city charter and tonight you applied the wisdom of it to a difficult situation. Watching this event tonight made me happy to be a citizen in Bozeman. Now that we got the right decision we have to get the right person for the investigation.

Okay, but one has to wonder . . . byAlphaBeagle June 30, 2009 (2 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
if they would have reacted as strongly as they have were it not for the national news putting the spotlight on them and our fair city.

Does it really matter?

Yeah, it matters - to me anyway. I like knowing that the city is acting because of its citizens, not because of the public spotlight. Otherwise, every time they don't feel under scrutiny or embarassment, what else shall go on that they don't do anything about?
It matters to me too.... byMontana007 July 01, 2009 (3 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I want a proactive and forward-looking local, state, and federal government that doesn't let issues like this become the problem that we have right now. A reasonable person would never have allowed these policies to exist.

Yes, they are doing what appears to be the right thing now, but the taxpayers have already been exposed to liability. We have a local government that consistently exposes the community to litigation and lawsuit awards that divert tax dollars away from important things and that ultimately result in increased taxation. Maybe this is a turning point, but more likely it is just one issue that they are forced to address as a result of the media frenzy.

Yup...how why or what ifs don't matter to me because they did the right thing - investigating about 60 employees. What I find disgusting is the Asst City Manager said that when he was fire chief applicants were disqualified from a job opportunity because of the facebook scandal, he wasn'r apologizing, he was proud of that fact.
