Day care closings

According to a Jan. 13 Chronicle story on Page A3, The Children’s Place, a nonprofit child care provider in Bozeman, closed on Friday. Do you think this is just another casualty of the economic downturn, or does it have greater implications for the community?

a) I suspect that it had something to do with the junky economy.

b) It likely has a huge implication for the community in that it is one less daycare provider in an already lean childcare town.

I agree with Danie.

When people aren't working as much-or not at all...they don't need daycare. Which means probably that the non-profit daycare wasn't receiving the donation and/or grant money they need to run. Or do they receive money from anyone...they would have to right? I'm not really sure how NP's work, but they gotta get their money from somewhere right?
