This was our "view" as we turned into the cemetery from Main Street, for a funeral.

berry. You drove around Bozeman and took three photos. You belittle and insult anyone who doesn't agree with your views. How much gas did you waste, tracking the girl that was talking on her phone? I know you're strapped for cash, you poor over-taxed creature. I'm worried about you and your health. What should happen to you if, god forbid, you were hit by an empty bus or a car driven by someone who was talking on their cell phone and had to seek medical assistance? My goodness, there's a few lgbt docs up at the hospital and we all know how you feel about that. Good grief. What if you ended up homeless, due to your cash-strapped lifestyle (taxes and gas bills to take photo safaris)? I guess there's always the park. god bless ya. |

I took 4 photos over a 2 week period... Glad I found the chance to post these along with my opionion. Good Grief" Bandit, what if YOU or one of your LGBT friends ended up homeless in Bozeman? As you can see, NO ONE WOULD CARE...That's the point of this "post." Few in Bozeman care about the homeless, and obviously no one has offered the deep financial support needed, to finish the home next to WalMart and get these folks off the street, and maybe some assistance to turn their lives around. How about your wonderful GBTL community? How about they sponsor this homeless shelter? Are the GBTL people "Grown up enough" to do something about this? I think we both know the answer to this. Nope, I don't see any concern from you or your cronies, regarding people who freeze to death because they are homeless in Bozeman. Nope, no outcry. You and other GLBT's have more important "Grown Up" things to worry about, LIKE GAY PARADES IN BOZEMAN! Bandit, what is up with the insults? (I guess you did not like my comments on your gay post, so now I am attacked for posting about homeless people.) hmmm...Well, ok. You keep speaking of me being "cash strapped." This is how it works; Those who pay the most, yell the most. Those who pay the least, yell the least. I have a feeling you are one of the "gimme, gimme, gimme... folks" who want everything handed to them, and then some. I am tired of paying for things that other people like you want and demand, like spoiled children. Things like self serving gay parades for instance. When you've paid taxes for 35 years, tell me all how you feel about wasteful spending. That is likely a foreign term for you, but I think you get the idea. Bandit, I understand your priorities are with the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transexual community, partners and friends, but that really has nothing to do with homeless people. Oh, you need to "Grow up." Don't pull your g b ya' BS here. Using the Lord's name to insult others, is a sin. You have just shown your true colors. They are not hues of a rainbow either. |

ma'am. Thanks for your kind words. As a matter of fact, the group that went to Billings Pride a couple of weeks ago, raised money...for the homeless shelter. Let's see, 35 years of paying taxes? Thanks ma'am, you and others make it possible for me to work at the two non-profits that employ me here in town. Our budget is continually getting cut, the majority of clients I have are people that are one paycheck from living in the park. Ma'am, I visit the hospital on a regular basis. I attend weekly meetings in the jail. I go to the prison on a monthly basis. I console, I support and I listen to the residents of this city, decent people who some criticize as having a 'gimme' mentality. But unlike some, I work trying to make this universe a little better, and if my efforts match those urged in the teachings of Christ, so be it. We agree on much, Berry. I am angered by wasteful spending and by rampant consumerism. I try to support local businessmen as much as possible, avoiding Walmart and frequenting the smaller guys in town. I do know some foreign terms, I was blessed to learn a few languages in the USN. As a young boy growing up in Montana I was taught certain values, ma'am, and I apologize if I've used the Lord's name to insult you. I was raised not to use the Lord's name in vain, but sometimes god is god, other times God is God. Ma'am, you see me as a low-life. Well, if that's what gets you through the night, I'm happy to oblige. In the meantime, I guess I'll just keep doing what gets me through the night. |

Bandit, You are such a fine example of a citizen, working at non-profits (most receive local/state/federal tax dollars). So, that means you work for me. Ok, how much money did the LBGT community DONATE to "Paul?" I will stop and talk to him about your claim of raising money for this. In fact, I'm going to print your last comment, to see if there is any truth to this. Then I'll report on Bozemantalks.com You evidently found reason to attack me for posting about "homeless people," yet you turn around and attack me for this. I'm pretty sick of it. Oh, now you claim you learned a "few languages" in the USN. Yeah, like I believe that. Don't use the Lord's name in vain to insult other's, and then attempt to justify it. Also, addressing me with the word "Ma'am" is another self serving insult you throw out. How about an attempt to stay on subject here? This is about "Homeless people." Not about you Bandit. Just comment what wonderful contributions you and your GLBT Community have made for the ONE AND ONLY HOMELESS SHELTER here in Bozeman. We'd truly like the facts. Thanks |

The lady you took a picture of is a crack whore that is not contributing to this society at all. She is very rude and needs to be somewhere else. I cant believe that she isn't dead yet! I am sick of watching her eat 'free' food only to waste half of it. I hope that my tax dollars do not pay for her in any way! |

| She suffers from mental illness and has been abused by family and men her whole life--that is what has made her what she is today! But go on, blame the victim--why not. I am sure she is just as worthless as you think she is. | ||

Just remember 'she' made the decision to do drugs. When life gets hard you nip it in the butt, not take the easy way...like she has. We are 'all' delt a poor hand sometimes. Its about being strong and overcoming whatever it is. She hasn't, thats not my fault. There are some homeless in town that are nice and I think are really trying to do something with themselves....she is not one of them. She is a pest. I have seen her naked in County Market, dancing on main street in traffic and sleeping in numerous parks as well as on our trail system. What If I did these things ? I would get some hassle from the BPD thats for damn sure. |

Must be nice to have life work out just fine for you. I love it when that happens--makes people blind to what another's reality might be. you really think she has control at this point? I bet she had control when she was being abused--she should have just said no to her parents! and that pesky mental illness--well, she should just say no to that, too! Nip it in the butt, huh? Isn't it bud? Unless you have walk a day in someone else's shoes, you never know what it is like to be them. But from way up on that pedestal--I guess your vantage point doesn't allow for such a thought. Curious, what exactly is your experience with the mentally ill? How would you diagnose her situation? What insight can you give us into how she could just change this around? No, it is not your fault--neither are the other ills in our society--but I sure am glad that some people step up to help others instead of just saying "NOT MY FAULT, NOT MY PROBLEM!". Can you imagine a world where everyone just looked at the next person and didn't give a crap?? I wouldn't want to be in that world! So, I will continue to try to help those who are unable to help themselves--you continue to be that rock in the middle of the ocean who needs no help and asks for none. Guess I just am not that type of person. But, when you find yourself in a place where you can't just "nip it in the bud," I do truly hope someone helps you. |

If this lady is a "crack whore" like you say, then maybe the BPD should follow her to her dealer, and put that person in jail. The crack/drug dealers are always looking for people, to turn into addicts. Makes me sick... |

Berrymountain, Again, I will mention Project Homeless Connect. It is July 12th at the 1st Pres. There are many people in this town who care--most of them work for the govt or the non-profs so many here rail against. As to the rescue mission, Paul has gotten a lot of help but has run into problems with the Bozeman sity codes at this point. Maybe you know someone who can help with this. I would love to invite you--or anyone else interested--to attend the Bozeman Continuum of Care meeting this upcoming Thursday and see who is working on this issue and MAYBE help us out. Thanks for your concerns. |

I have found that there is a vast number of projects that do a number of good deeds around our community, and don't feel the need to do more, since I don't know the situation nor do I have time to investigate each one personally, I would rather let the programs that we have set up do that for me. Nevertheless, many programs have requirements to make people change because they want to, so yes, maybe this is a person who doesn't want to...IDK though...every situation is different but there are tons of programs out there both government and church/charity... |

I come from a family that has some members who battled some form of addiction. After you use for a while, it no longer is a "choice." My dad died of his addiction. If he'd had help instead of having an enabling wife-my stepmother-he might still be with us. My brother got help and is doing well. He needs every meeting and every avenue of support he can get his hands on, though. I don't drink because I live in fear that I will follow their lead. There is truth in the theory that addictive personalities are inherited. I still think Bike Ryder needs to get over him or herself. Why are you giving with the intention of getting back? Giving is giving, regardless of whether you are thanked, or it is appreciated. Methinks Bike Ryder judges so he/she has an excuse not to expend too much energy helping others. |
