Insulting Intelligence!

SUPERMAN!!!

Do you Blog? If so, for what reason(s)? I can see posting up some useful community information(definitely including a good recipe or hiking trail or anecdote), or bringing a current social issue into the debate forum, but it seems that there are quite a number of people who would like to blog or comment on blogs only for the sake of being contrary, or even downright insulting, rather than attempting to engage in an honest discussion. Is there any real use for this sort of behavior? I think we should all frequently stop and ask ourselves questions like: "Who am I?" and "What exactly am I doing right now?" in order to check ourselves and maintain sanity in a world that is growing more insane around us by the minute. I guess it was nicely said once in a rhyme, "You'd better check yourself before you wreck yourself!" I'm not sure who said that, but one thing's for certain, that if you are taking someone's post off of the subject in order to insult them in some way, you may be successful for that moment but you have already lost your argument in the eyes of True Intelligence. Peace to All!

With me it's not that complex.
I blog because although I'm self centered and arrogant, I realize that nothing I say is usually very important like what I am saying right now. But at least I can be anonymous. I'm also a lonely person with good reason and crave attention.

Thanks uptown! If you really think you are self centered and arrogant, then maybe what you wrote is important. If we don't constantly try to be the very best we can be, we are ultimately failing ourselves and our neighbors. i think you were very honest, and that's very important and admirable as well! Peace to you!
Debate is always contrary by2ndMonkey5 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Some people thrive on egging other's on to build the subject at hand.

exactly why i've been avoiding this place for awhile..

how can you debate with a moron and keep your self respect intact?

..and as i stated in another comment, it's nice! go out and play!
(maybe some people just need to get out of their mama's basement and get some fresh air?) AHAHAHAHAHA!

oops. there went what was left of it. damn.

Thanks 2ndmonkey! I agree that what you wrote is quite accurate. It leaves me wondering why though. If I was a mean person, I imagine I would want to take my meanness out to the streets where I could get the ultimate "enjoyment" out of being mean, like seeing the look on peoples faces when I hurt them, etc. Perhaps many mean people are scared to interact face to face though, and would rather hide behind the anonymity of the internet. Mostly I thimk it seems like some rather odd behaviour to me, so I figured I'd throw it out here and find out what others have to say. Peace!

Thanks TOBJ! Honest, straightforward communication always wins in the end, unless that "moron" gets you to act like a moron as well. Not ever talking to one deemed a "moron" probably keeps that person from ever having a chance to be loved and informed of views other that their own. So when you're out there in the sunshine and fresh air up on the mountain, please take a moment to say a prayer for a few of those "morons". You will either bless them or curse them by giving them love from your heart and mind, and you will be better off for it either way. Peace to you!
Writing is fun bycwrite5 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
In an age of sound bites & visual clips,
being able to express onself by the printed word can be fun.
The printed word can be reread more than once while verbal communication evaporates as it is spoken. Ever notice how people often don't listen well enough to respond to what you said or asked. They move on to their next random thought or answer a completely different question than you asked.
By writing, we have a better chance of making ourselves understood.
We also have a chance to exchange ideas that might never be traded
between two people who are unlikely to ever meet.
I think it's why writers and journalists make a career of it.
They have to be good at it to get anywhere. We all know why.
Blog On... byberrymountain5 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
It allows anyone to air their ideas, thoughts, opinions outside our general circle of friends, family, and business associates. Being politically correct in many situations, has become the "norm."

When JB and I went "round and round" about Lebrum being sentenced to 99 years for robbery, I held the opinion and still do, that the sentence Lebrum received had nothing to do with his skin color. But, JB made me think alot more about the subject. Really..."who" gets 99 years for robbery? No one! The judge sentenced Lebrum for murder...which he was not convicted of. That is WRONG.

It is good to know the opinion opinion of others, and blogging provides a forum for debate regarding most any subject.
Blog on indeed........ bySuperJames4 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
God bless you for your honesty, Berrymountain! I see it as one of your most powerful tools. I have seen some of the most interesting commentary on this site from both you and JBR, although your presentation and personalities seem worlds apart. It makes my heart a bit sad when you become angry and take shots at each other, because I usually get the feeling that you are both in general agreement, but the fire is too hot at that moment. The world has become so diverse and complicated, that I fear we've gone too far to talk it all out anymore. Both of you give me hope, because it seems you have honest hearts that really want answers that are the "rightest", even though you're like two siblings fighting so often! Peace, and God bless Berrymountain and Johnbrownraider!
