Removals... byrocker1 week ago (2 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Removal of all of the doggie poo that thoughless owners don't pick up would be great! It smells like a dog toilet around here in the spring! Warm, wet dog poo...makes going for walks so much fun!
RE: Removals... byDrogoscg1 week ago (0 votes) (report abuse)
The reason that Bozeman is covered in gog poo is because of dog owners. Leash laws should be enforced and non-dogowners should assert themselves against aggressive dogs and rude dog owners.
Needs... bybozogirl1 week ago (4 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Bozeman needs a "real" recycling center that takes everything - all types of plastic and glass!

It would also be nice to have a restaurant that was consistently excellent.
Recycling byvarietychic1 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I just heard that they are going to start a recycling pick up service this fall! I saw it in a Bozeman paper (like the Bozone, but not) I totally agree. I have been trying to figure out the recycling here for awhile, LOL.

Keep in mind that you'll have to pay for that curbside recycling collection service.
Customer Service byvarietychic1 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I travel a lot and it seems that I get such great service in other parts of the country. I think Bozeman is missing something there. Not all the time, but when friends visit, they always comment on how people have a strange attitude in Bozeman and that they feel like they are putting the server/attendant out. It's sad because Montana is supposed to have good people! Not a bunch of grumps. I think Bozeman is missing the happy friendly attitude that is supposed to be what small towns are about.
RE: Customer Service byDrogoscg1 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse)
Bozeman people are some of the worst snobs you will find anywhere. People in Bozeman realy do think thay are royalty. If the spend two dollars at a restaurant they still think they should get full dining service. It should be a law that all wait staff in Bozeman should be able to be as rude to the customer as the customer is rude to the wait staff of any level of restaurant.
RE: Customer Service bydanie0061 week ago (0 votes) (report abuse)
I agree with varietychic. In the last few years we've noticed that customer service and quality work has taken a turn for the worse...not sure why. Perhaps it's because employees aren't making enough and their work reflects their pay rate - too low for satisfaction.
Family play center byfamily1 week ago (2 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I would love to see anything from a Geyser Park type of thing (mini golf, go carts, etc) to a Chuck E. Cheese. Even a special place for kids to get their hair cut (like Lil Noggins in Billings). Bozeman has lots of amazing outdoor activities, but these would be tons of fun for young families.
Beer at the Fieldhouse byrocker1 week ago (4 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I would love to have a beer during a concert at the Fieldhouse.
Coffee byuptown1 week ago (3 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
A place to get coffee downtown.
RE: Coffee bydanie0061 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse)
Huh? If you're looking for an old style coffee counter try the Western Cafe. If you want a coffee house try the half dozen offerings in the 6-block stretch along Main Street.
Something Bozeman doesn't have bycwrite1 week ago (2 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
A Red Lobster Restaurant would please some of us.

As for the local attitude. Bozeman isn't the small town it used to be.
Some people resent the change and it shows.
It's being over-run with newcomers who expect it to be like
wherever they came from. It isn't yet but it won't be long.
WOW!! byTahoe191 week ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Maybe I'm disillusioned!! Being born and raised here, I too have seen the changes. But Wow! All the negativity on this page!!

First off, I agree that there are a lot of irresponsible dog owners. I am starting to get a little offended with all of the blanket statements that "dog owners are rude and irresponsible." Many owners have their dogs under verbal command and don't need leashes. In certain areas (Peet's Hill) it is a great place for animals to socialize and run freely without the fear of them getting hit by a car. If an animal is aggressive, it should be leashed. Anytime I've every been anywhere in this town, aggressive dogs have been leashed. Yes, dog owners need to clean up after their dogs!! I'm sorry if any of you have had bad experiences, but lumping all pet owners into the bad, rude and irresponsible category is offensive. That's like me shooting off a comment about a certain religion just because I had multiple bad experiences!

Second, where the hell have I been?? Granted, I do keep to myself most of the time, but other than if I have to go to Wal-Mart for something (a trip I dread), most of my experiences in this town are positive ones. We've traveled out of town recently and the first thing I noticed was how no one seemed to smile at you, or say hi or look out for you. Years ago when all this growth started, this town went from the cow town where you say hi to everyone to a place that was unfriendly. I remember walking into a store and having the clerk ask me "what do you need?"...I was ready to leave right then and there. Thankfully I feel the pendulum swung back toward the center to a town where people are courteous and caring. They smile and are mostly happy. Yes, there are snobby people here, just like everywhere, but "Bozeman people are some of the worst snobs you will find anywhere"...Could you be more offensive??

Maybe the post the other day about Prozac was more correct than I thought. I love it here! I love the people here! If some of you are that unhappy here, why do you stay? Maybe that anger is coming from within. I'm sorry for that and am so thankful that I don't see it!
RE: WOW!! byrocker1 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse)
Sorry you were offended...I wasn't talking about all dog owners - just the irresponsible ones (which are quite a few in Bozeman). I live next to a park, and do own a dog. I pick up after my dog and leash him as required by law. If people don't like the leash law, then they should walk their dog where leashes aren't required. Many "well behaved" unleashed dogs have jumped on my children scaring them. Just obey the law... it's not a crazy one - most cities have it and enforce it.
Doggie doo removal byPooperman1 week ago (3 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I have a successful dog poop removal service. I gave the city a rock bottom price a few years ago to clean the parks a few times a month, and they balked. Yes, there are irresponsible dog owners but the city should be responsible for their lands too. I already do the "M" and Bozeman Creek once a week from May through October for the U.S. Forest service and those trails are NASTY!! If I wasn't around we would have over 10 TONS of poo still lying around from the past few years. Speak up to the city!! I am more than willing to clean our parks esp. Peets Hill.

Thanks Pooperman! You make Bozeman a better place!!
A landfill byshane1 week ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
First, I agree with Tahoe19. I just don't understand where all the Bozeman bashing is coming from in recent years. I love it here and still seem to be able to find happy nice people whenever I go out. If you want rude customer service, try visiting anywhere within a few hundred miles of NYC sometime.

I think we need to start operating our landfill more extensively. I forget the specific numbers but for roughly 7 million $ it could be expanded to serve our needs for 50 additional years at a profit in the 10s of millions of dollars. Especially with gas prices increasing, why should we truck everything to 3 Forks? My guess is that the folks who knowingly bought expensive houses near the existing landfill are getting antsy for it to close so that they can have a de-facto park to look at and use.

I also find it odd that Gardiner recycles their glass while we do not.
RE: A landfill bybozogirl1 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse)
Gardiner takes glass? Do you know where they send it? And why couldn't the recycling company grab Bozeman's too?

a large YMCA facility bymommy1 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I would love to see a YMCA like the one in Butte here in Bozeman. I would also like to see the Children's Museum get more funding and be able to improve it facility.
Beat cops downtown! byBozemaniteNo314231 week ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Numerous driving, cycling and pedestrian violations happen daily. The crosswalk signs need adjusting to cross North and South, and there should be "No Right Turns" allowed on red lights.
For instance, one day as I was walking back to work from lunch, I was about to appropriately cross an intersection, when a car ran the stop light when I was halfway across Main Street. What was truly befuddling was that this driver, then, stopped in the middle of the block to let 2 people cross through the traffic!! A complete idiot!!!
Dave & Busters byVigilante37771 week ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
We need a Dave & Busters. Food, Sports, Video Games! My wife would always know where I am at. I also like the idea of a Red Lobster or an Olive Garden. How about a water park? Some swimming pools, a couple of water slides, with go-karts and mini golf all wrapped up with some campground. Works out in Big Timber. We also need a better venue. Someplace where we can bring the Ice Dogs in and have a semi pro Basketball team or indoor Football plus have, boxing, concerts, theatre, symphonies, opera, whatever! They are a lot of good places to have these things, but no great places. Brick Breeden is cool but we need a place off campus for a wider aray of events.

FAZOLI'S!! byRoseLady4 days ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I didn't know what I was doing & posted my comment as a post.. duh, but,

I think Bozeman needs a Fazoli's!! They have such great pastas & salads.. and it's a great alternative to the regular fast-food!! Love those hot never-ending supply of garlic breadsticks!!
Amazing byBrazilianguy3 days ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Hi guys, I'm from Brazil, but I lived in Bozeman from dec. 2004 until april 2005. I loved to live there but Bozeman needed to be more close to Brazil so would be easier to visit there again. The people who live in Bozeman should be more friendly, I met some good people but even trying to keep in contact nobody answer. Bozeman need to show all good things that they have to the USA, because when I went to big cities in USA nobody have heard about there. Bozeman need to show Sky stations, Yellowstone National Park... on TV! Lived in Bozeman was one of the most exciting experience in my life. Thanks for all.
What Does Bozeman Need byberrymountain2 days ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Less Gallatin Valley Mafioso...They might wear clean clothes, and even ties at times. But the people running this town, county and state are doing so for themselves and their network of "Good Ol' Boys."

What's new?
